A man took a glass bottle filled with water and shook it. Sediment that had settled in the bottom of the bottle was set into chaotic motion inside. It seemed settled, didn’t it, he said, but look what I have effected. He seemed very pleased with himself.
A short while later someone had a look at the bottle on the table, and saw that the sediment had virtually all settled again on the bottom. He picked up the bottle to have a closer look, but then unfortunately someone, an acquaintance, tapped him on the shoulder, and in his fright the bottle slipped from his hands, smashed to the ground, and everything - glass, water, sediment - went everywhere.
