Just a quick thought on the World Economic Forum, whose good people and doctrines your government and mine are most likely aligning themselves with.
So, what I’d like to do is unite their famous promise of “You will own nothing and be happy” with the description of humanity by one of their best known ideologues, Yuval Harare, as “soulless, hackable animals.”
And so we end up with:
“You are soulless, hackable animals who will own nothing and be happy.”
You’d have to be some kind of far-right, conspiracy theory loon not to buy into a vision like that. I think the idea of the actually being happy in this scenario, rather than being a reassuring solace, is maybe the most terrifying aspect here! - and which is exactly the warning of Huxley’s Brave New World. Actually, just now coming to mind is a think-thank scenario with these WEF beings - Klaus Schwab, etc:
“We cannot simply stay here, Yuval, in our ivory towers making grand plans for the future of humanity. We must get our ideas across to the masses. They are not so bright, many of them, so how can we make them understand? We need succinct slogans to let them know what we are envisaging and what we are doing for them.”
“What about: ‘You are soulless, hackable animals who will own nothing’?”
“Yes, yes, that is very good. But maybe it will be seen as a bit harsh. You know how dark in their imaginings some of these people can be. ”
“Yes, you are right, Klaus. I have seen this firsthand for myself. They can be very irrational. But what about this: ‘You are soulless, hackable animals who will own nothing and be happy’?”
“Brilliant! Everyone loves happiness! How do you do it, Yuval? You have the populist touch. You have your finger on the pulse.”
“I have always been a man of the people, Klaus.”
“Yes, yes, that is very true. I admit I sometimes envy you for this. You must be careful not to make me too envious, Yuval.”
