By Jean-Francois Millet (1814-1875). I’m not succeeding in finding this painting in searching at the moment, but having taken this screenshot a good while ago, I think it may have simply been called “Peasants” and has that deep, heavy calmness that Millet’s works could exude, whom this spirituality and dignity attained within this human life especially called to the yearnings of someone like Van Gogh who created several versions or copies of quite a few of Millet’s works.
(Having written that, I have the feeling I previously made the exact same point in posting something by Millet!)
