Earlier today, or was it last night, I stumbled across a few things I’d done and forgotten about, and so having worked on a bit, hopefully to its betterment, here is one of them.

Bourgeois Intelligentsia On the March

Not content with simply releasing singles into the perfectly controlled cultural maelstrom, Bourgeois Intelligentsia are apparently holed up right now somewhere - possibly a university campus near you - recording material for their debut album: Do You Wanna Be in Our Cult?

Below is a leaked and preliminary listing of some songs for the album:

Neurosis Is Strength
Inclusivity Is Non-Negotiable
The Lower Classes Haven’t Advanced Enough to Be Able to Handle Education (Have My Doubts They Ever Will)
Humanity Is Obsolete - We Are the New People
Education Fetish Coursing Through My Body (Do You Want My Body?)
Time to Cut the Lower Classes Loose (We Tried to Raise Them Up But They Weren’t Worthy of Our Sacrifice)
Opened Ourselves Up to Higher Wisdom
Do You Wanna Be in Our Cult (Or Do You Wanna Be In Your Very Own Gulag?)

Waltz Time

Hot new and super-relevant music group, Bourgeois Intelligentsia have a new single soon sure to be crawling up and over the cultural horizon: Bourgeois Death Stare (Gonna Put the Fear In You).

The song is said to be in waltz time, under the influence no doubt of the great Richard Strauss, whilst it is also gives a more than a passing nod of appreciation to the golden years of Motown. The members of Bourgeois Intelligentsia would like it to be known that they are highly appreciative of black culture in all its forms.

The song is also graced with a b side: Face Masks Are Still Cool in 2025.

Poison

A man ingested, however it happened, an amount of poison, and which induced the most violent physical reactions, convulsions and vomiting -  the body kicking into action to protect itself from the incaution or stupidity of the person supposedly governing it, I suppose, so to speak.
“If only I could stop vomiting!” he wailed to a doctor.
“Stop vomiting?! Vomiting is the one healthy thing that’s going on here. It’s trying to expel the crap inside you. It’s like your physical conscience.”
“But why can’t it just make peace with the poison?! I could learnt to live with it!”
”And just let it world away inside? Doing its thing?”
“Why not? I wouldn’t have to know what’s going on in there. And anyway, as far as I’m concerned, it’s the vomiting is the real problem. Without it who’s to say there’d be any problem! It might even be good.”
“I suppose there’s no arguing with that.”

Corot - The Lake

By one of my favourite artists, Camille Corot (1796-1895). Such a natural, balanced poetic sense.

Coffee

“What’s your favourite coffee ad with a famous corporate whore?”
“I don’t know. That’s a hard one.”
“It is, isn’t it?”
“There’s so many!”

Top 50 Hollywood Films of the 21st Century

“What are your favourite fifty films made by Hollywood from this century?”
“I’m afraid I wouldn’t have seen fifty films made by Hollywood from this century.”
“Really? That’s strange. That’s only about two a year. Top twenty so Hollywood films from this century - hit me with them.”
“Afraid again I wouldn’t have seen that many, so I couldn’t fill up a list that big.”
“Top ten?”
“No. Still couldn’t do it I’m afraid.”
“Five?”
“Maybe about three.”
“And those three would be your favourite three Hollywood movies from the 21st century?”
“Well yeah, I suppose.”
“And what are they?”
“I can’t really remember, to be honest. I don’t think any of them made much of an impression.”
“Thank you for your list of the top 50 Hollywood movies from the 21st century.”
“You’re very welcome.”

Borders, Inner and Outer

A thought that came to me in relation to the post, Liberalism, Thought and Temptation, regarding one’s diligence regarding thoughts, whatever the source. Thoughts can lead to all kinds of unwise activities and inner states, even onto suicide. And so it’s pretty important to be able protects oneself, one’s core, and have boundaries, borders as it were, so that everything doesn’t have free rein to pour through to our psyche. And how under modern liberalism, thoughts that should be easily recognised as toxic temptations are given full freedom over the psyche, their mere appearance justifying them as legitimate and to be fostered. So the intellectual immune system is intentionally done away with, and every emanation or invasive force is welcomed in! There is no illegitimate or transgressive presence - except, that is, to say there is an illegitimate presence! That’s the one thought that’s not allowed to hang around.

Equate this to the attitude to national borders, especially with regard to the present. Under socialist/progressive thinking, there are no borders, and the very idea of protecting one’s borders is the ‘sin’ against the ideology! It’s an exact parallel, as in the inner world, so in the outer.

Liberalism, Thought and Temptation

[Just edited this piece a little, and so re-posting.]

First to quote St Maximos the Confessor (580-662) from the book, The Philokalia: “For the war which the demons wage against us by means of thoughts is more severe than the war they wage by material means.” And St Philotheos of Sinai writes: “It is by means of thoughts that the spirits of evil wage a secret war against the soul. For since the soul is invisible, these malicious powers naturally attack it invisibly.”
And another line from the First Epistle of Peter is:”Be sober, be vigilant, for your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking who he may devour.”
And again, the means of attack is temptation through thought suggestion, and this can be a very subtle, prolonged process.

Whether one believes in the reality of the spiritual and the negative-spiritual or demonic, what is the attitude of the devil to sin? He is very liberal about it. And in the spiritual or Christian view of the influence of the demonic on us, their potential influence is through the world of thoughts, which acts  as a lure into a spiritually dark, corrupt realm. This realm of degradation is not simply divorced from truth morally, or is unholy, but it is also corrupt intellectually, and is ultimately insane. So a demonic thought or temptation appears which we in our extreme self-centred myopia and naivety accept as our own. Civilisation in the positive sense depends on some kind of generally accepted filtering mechanism or moral code by which not all thoughts are legitimised and given free rein. Thus murder, rape, disturbed, delusional thoughts of many kinds are discouraged, and potentially punished if acted upon.

The current “liberal” attitude though is that the very existence of a thought legitimises it and the desire it provokes, and the moral and intellectual filter is done away with. It’s a kind of extreme, weird materialism where the existence of even a thought blatantly at odds with physical reality, is real and legitimate on the basis of its appearance within the mind. So very tellingly within this ethos it is thoughts that are placed at the top of the material hierarchy, and physical reality must bow down to its whims. This is exactly as one would expect to see through this lens of spiritual temptation. The means of the demonic manifestation, which is temptation through thought, is given the highest status within this liberal thought-system. “You identify as something you are not? Fine. That’s the way we’ll say reality is now, and nobody better disagree!” Thus, people in a psychiatric hospital identifying as Napoleon or whoever are to be taken seriously! Reality is relative, there is no real self, and any inner state is as real as any other.

To see this ethos of total relativism within the mathematical field. Here, for the liberal ethos, the true answer to some mathematical problem is bigotry in action, as it by deprives all wrong answers of the right to identify as true. So if you say that 7+7 can only equal 14, but someone else says that there are literally hundreds of correct answers here, or answers which can identify as true, such as 7+7=19, then truth has become the enemy. Truth and falseness are inverted under this ideological system, not just morally but simultaneously also intellectually.

Thus, as began with above, the demonic is extremely liberal to sin or inner disturbance. Every desire as a thought is legitimate due to its existence within the mind. And “sin” here is inverted to be the bigoted denial of the legitimacy of every thought or desire, including for example pedophilia, which within the unfolding of the ethos would quickly be justified as another desire, and so a legitimate inner reality, to be legitimately satisfied.

So it’s quite easy to see how liberalism in this unfolding genuinely amounts to the ethos of anti-Christ, and just as is expounded as the historical process within the New Testament, and where the human person of a final antichrist is really a kind of natural incarnation of, and perfectly in sync with, the prevailing ethos rather than some haphazard human appearance within the flow of history.

Bourgeois Intelligentsia

There’s a new and exciting group on the ever extending musical horizon, called Bourgeois Intelligentsia. They appear to be ticking all the right boxes, and their debut song is just about to be released as a single, called: We Are Bourgeois Intelligentsia and We Kick Ass. Forces within the entertainment industrial complex say this group could “go big.”

There is also a b side to the single: How Can My Head Be Big Enough to Hold All the Ideas That Are Swarming Around Inside of It?

Hypocrites and Misogynists

“You know those people whining about men identifying as women, and then winning in women’s sports?”
“Yeah, what about them?”
“You don’t get these same people complaining about the women who identify as men, and then go onto beat up the men in men’s sports!”
“You’re right - noone mentions them, the dominant women. It’s almost like, judging by all the silence, that they don’t exist. Total hypocrites!”
“And misogynists!”
“For me, there’s nothing more beautiful than the sight of a man deeply immersed in his feminine side and unashamedly beating the shit out of a woman.”
“And not giving a damn what anyone thinks about it.”
“Exactly.”
“That’s the kind of thing that gives us all hope for the future.”
“And the present.”

Distance yourself

Distance yourself from the world, and only then will you recognise its foulness. For if you do not withdraw, you will not learn how, but instead you will embrace its stench as if it were a pleasant fragrance and will consider the nakedness of your own shame as a cloak of glory.
Discernment and judgment cannot operate or serve one who is nourished amidst vanities. How could a mind clouded by the world’s distractions discern what is right?

St Isaac the Syrian.

In this manner, immersed in the mindset of the world, its daily mental disseminations, and imagining this is some dutifully performed virtue, what happens as a consequence of all this collectively performed and sustained ‘respectability’ is that “together they have become corrupt” (Psalm 53).

Not that this is about ‘they’ rather than us!

Front and back

If I get one of the above framed, I’m pretty sure it’ll be the first one, though in whichever order things happened, the second image is the other side of the sheet of paper which, random and haphazard scribble though it may more or less be,  I’ve got to like or notice a bit more than I had done.
